Sooo.... I think I'm going to sign up for seasonal_spuffy. I did sign up once for the Fall 2007 round when I was a senior in college and then didn't make my posting date. That's two years ago. Maybe it will be different this time? Maybe? I suppose if I can't come up with anything brilliant, which I'd really like, then I could always resort to porn. *sigh* What a cop out though, you know? I think I'm in need of a ficathon support group.

And, while I'm here, a rec! Last night I read Holes by servus_a_manu and wholeheartedly enjoyed it. The shot, set between S5 and S6, explores the theme of "awakening" for Dawn and Spike. It's erotic, wonderfully characterized, and by the end of the fic leaves the character's at a place that feels as though they've bypassed each other rather than met in the middle. Pretty interesting, thinky stuff, actually. Go, read, comment!

Repeat after me: "Hi, my name is clawofcat, and I'm a ficathon-aholic."

*gulp* That's two favorite authors I've been rec'd by... *ego swells 'til it realizes that means I should be writing... shrinks like man-parts in ice water*

Aw... *pets you* I'm the last person to ever demand that people write. It's just not one of those on-command sorts of things. So, no pressure, okay?

Who else rec'd you, btw? Was it also for the Spawn?

Yay for no pressure, tho I can't help but feel it sometimes as an internal rising cacophony of words that will explode with a very nasty mess if I don't let it out! I'm sure it's that way for most people who write as a hobby/passion.

The other person who rec'd me was nautific if you can believe it! She rec'd me under my Elysian Fields member name (my old lj user name ellan_vannin) so I haven't seen many new people to my lj because of it. Also, the only thing I've posted to EF is my AU/AH, which of course turns a lot of people off (even tho they're reading Nauti, because she's the exception for people who swear off AH). I'm less concerned with gaining readership from her rec, however, than I am bowled over by the fact that she was impressed with my stuff! It was a fangirl moment.
