Author quiz meme thingy
As is typical of me, I've missed a few days worth of posts since I haven't been checking my flist, but I did notice the Stump the Author meme that's been going around. It looks fun!

1.) Go to my sidebar and pick out a line or two from one of my stories. (Must be a full line, please -- no sentence fragments or speech tags or other such nonsense.)
2.) I will respond with which story of mine I think it's from.
3.) If you stump me, I'll do something. Haiku perhaps? I just don't have time for drabbles right now.

This should be hilarious, especially if it's a line about  orgasms or sex. I've written so many of them, it'll be entertaining to see if I can keep them straight :)

Also, I'm packing up with the 'rents and Gus tomorrow to go for vacation in Vermont. I'll be at a resort in Mount Snow in West Dover from June 5th-June 12th. Looking forward to lots of hiking, kyacking, sleeping, and general happy nature time. I also started reading "Female Chauvenist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture" by Ariel Levy. Loving it so far. Might have thoughts about it later and how it relates to fandom.

I also still plan on doing the recs post. I'll have my laptop along with me in Vermont and will have some free time to mess about on the comp since I won't be at work on in the gym. Would also love to write something for the latest round of the_jossverse . The spotlight characters are Giles and Fred. Not to mention that only_passenger has given me a truly Herculean fic request to meet by the time I see her at WriterCon at the end of July. Also, just bought tix to see Beyonce at the Izod Center at the Meadowlands on July 24th. Joy. All the single ladies, put your hands up!

Aw I read that book back when it first came out! It's really good.

Have fun on vacation! :)

Thanks, Sevvy. Yeah, I started it yesterday and am already up to p. 90. It's a fast read, humorous and has a lot of good insight.

I've been having too much fun with this meme, lol.

"Spike gripped her bottom tightly and brought her flush against his mouth, lapping at her clit with a renewed fervor, his breath coming out in short puffs against her skin."

Hm... At first I was like, "Shit, I have no idea." And then I was looking at the story titles on my side bar and started to eliminate which ones it definately wasn't. My instinct is to say that Spike is with Buffy here and that the female in question is standing and he's kneeling. I wouldn't write action like that if the girl was on her back. He's also been at it awhile if it's "renewed fervor." I want to say that's "Pre-Nuptial Bliss" since they have a pretty extended encounter in Giles' bathttub where Buffy is standing, but it could also be "Little Lost Lamb," which also heavily features oral sex with Dawn standing and Spike kneeling. Gah...

Also, bottom seems like an unusual choice of words for me. I'd use something like that if there was too much repetition of ass. This one line could be construed as excitement on Spike's part since he's panting, but I'm leaning toward desperation. This action must have come after a pause, maybe dialogue. An entreaty or voiced need for "More." Something.

Okay, "Little Lost Lamb." Final answer! No idea if I'm right or not.

You got it! It's funny how no one seems to actually remember the lines, and instead works it out based on context clues. :)

Wow. I'm surprised I got it. Tough one, that. Context clues are definately helpful. Is that how you figured yours out or did you know immediately?

I have to find a good line for you. See if I can stump ya at some point.

The first one I knew immediately. All the rest I had to figure out. Some were easier than others - like, BSE is pretty much a gimme since it's the only first-person I've done, so if I see "I" and it's not dialogue, well, of course it's BSE.

I'll give you this line then:

The action is subtle, but she knows he’s with her when he simultaneously arches his hips up to meet hers, sealing himself inside momentarily only to be released again.

Now... From what off your very lovely fics did I take that one, hmm? ;-) Lovely meme. Fun to shop around among your fics. Found a few I hadn't read yet, even. Will have to do something about that. :-D

Ooh, ooh! I know this one right off. That's Faith and Angel in "Unsung Heroes." There are so many beautiful lines in that short piece and I distinctly remember this one.

I wish more people would play because I've written so many shots with so many different pairings, things can get pretty confusing, especially if there's only gender pronouns go to by and no actual names.

Thanks for quizzing me. Very fun!

A lot of beautiful lines, yeah. :-) And a wonderful pairing. Thats why I picked it. I tried to get one with no names or anything, but you got it anyway. :-) Impressive!
