Has anyone read these?

I've been jonesin' to read some scholarly work written about fanfiction, and came across "The Democratic Genre: Fanfiction in a Literary Context" by Sheenagh Pugh and "Fanfiction and Fan Communities in the Age of the Internet" by Karen Hellekson on Amazon. Before going ahead and purchasing these babies, has anyone read them or heard positive or negative reviews about either of these books? If they're stinkers, I'll save the $20 it'll cost to order them.

Goddamn it, you're always beating me to new slang. Now I'm going to have to use the term jonesin' whenever possible.

*blinks* Uh, babe, you do realize that jonesin' is seriously old slang, right?

The term comes from "Generation Jones," a marketing demographic, which comprises peeps born between the Boomers and Gen Xers during the years 1954-1965. The slang terms refers to the "unrequited craving felt by this generation of unfulfilled expectations," but has come into more general use as simply a craving or desire for xyz. So... nothing new there. Your just new to it =)
