I'm sorry, but...
I felt compelled to say that I may have been one of the few people in this fandom that didn't share in the collective orgasm last night after watching James in Torchwood. Aside from the novelty of seeing James get in on some boy on boy action, I wasn't really getting tinglies from it. Perhaps, in part, this had to do with how much smaller James is compared to the guy that plays Jack. He seemed so diminutive and... womanish by comparison.

I did find the similarities between their kiss/punch fest to Spike's violent/sexual interactions with Buffy interesting though. Most may have been substituting Angel in during that scene, but me... I was thinking of wee Buffy giving it to him good and proper.

My favorite part - those snarfing, sighing sounds he makes when he kisses. I don't recall ever hearing them on BtVS, but they were loud and clear on the dailies, especially for episodes like Smashed. I likes me a vocal man  =)

LOL. What the heck is Torchwood?

This BBC sci-fi show. It's a spin-off of "Dr. Who." I've never seen it myself.

Hee! Strangely i found it hot largely *because* of the size difference :P I love how John seems to be a walking contradiction, petite enough to be womanish and meek but he gives as much as he gets, from the looks of it. *cackle*

And YIS to the snarfing! Dude, so so hawt.

*hugs you*

Yeah, that was pretty awesome how he threw Jack into the line of shotglasses. The fight scene was pretty decently choreographed. I'm sure there will be more where that came from.

Have you ever seen Torchwood before? I hadn't even heard of it before James-o-mania hit.

Oh, I agree. I was actually taken aback a bit at how small he seemed. I knew James wasn't tall, but seeing him so long next to Sarah, he looked, well, very manly. Is that other guy just huge?

It's odd, DB is bigger and taller than James, but with Angel, Spike always seemed to hold his own when they were face to face, no manliness lost.

I think that other guy must be huge.

I have a random question to ask you - are you planning any sort of sequel to 'Litte Lost Lamb'? Reason I ask is because I've been planning a Spawn set after All the Way, from S6, and with your permission, I'd like to take 'Little Lost Lamb' as canon for the purposes of the fic. I'm not in any hurry, just let me know. *g*

I totally agree with you about Spike never seeming small next to Angel. He was like one of those loud terriers with lots of personality next to a rottweiler. Despite the difference in size, he never seemed weaker or less powerful. And yes, I think that guy is huge. Never seen Torchwood before, so I can't comment on how tall he is compared to other male characters on the show though.

As for your random question - COOL! I am planning a Spawn fic that will sort of act as a bookend to LLL, but not really a sequel. I'd love to see how you might continue the trajectory of their relationship taking those events as canon. 'Cause I sure as hell don't know what happens after it. How exciting!

And also good to hear from you. I've been away for the last few weeks and it's nice to finally catch up with people.

Apparently I have a little “thing” for big guy/small guy, so it worked for me.

It seems it worked for most people =)

Honestly, I think James kissing anyone just makes me happy. (You know how I feel about him and doors.) He's just so intense about it.

JB seems to give most Torchwood fans tinglies all by himself, so putting him with James is just double the fun. And from what I can tell, this is just a hint of the hot boy-on-boy action in this ep, so I'm sure it's sending imaginations to all kinds of places.

I didn't really have a problem with him seeming diminutive. Yes, he's a small guy, but it didn't bother me. I definitely thought the kiss/punch thing had shades of Buffy/Spike. It's vaguely dysfunctional, but violence is hot.

Mm, Spike and the door... *goes to the happy place* But very true about the intensity. No hesitation, balls to the wall, all out kissage. Gotta respect that.

You know, I didn't find JB too hot. There's something weird about his face. And I don't really like tall, beef-cakey dudes. It's why I wasn't really a Boreanez fan in terms of his attractiveness. I like a hint of exoticness.

I know what you mean about this. 'Classically' handsome/beefcake has never done much for me either.
eowyn_315: sleepy Spikeeowyn_315 on January 9th, 2008 02:25 pm (UTC)
JB doesn't do a whole lot for me, either, although I think DB is totally shaggable (in Bones, anyway), so it's not really a body-type thing. In RL, I like a guy who makes me feel small, so a little guy like JM probably wouldn't do it for me... but I certainly don't mind watching him on TV. :)
Shapinglightshapinglight on January 8th, 2008 10:36 pm (UTC)
I quite like the height disaparity too. James is a short guy (about 5'8" at the most) but like the characters he plays, he's feisty with it.

ClawofCat: beg for itclawofcat on January 9th, 2008 05:22 am (UTC)
Heh, he is feisty. So, if you put James and Tom Cruise in a scene together, would they be eye to eye?
Shapinglight: spangel silhoutteshapinglight on January 9th, 2008 11:44 am (UTC)
Probably. Not sure how tall Tom Cruise is.

However, I quite like that James is short and yet the characters he plays are never overawed by taller men (except that one time with Riley in Buffy vs Dracula). He's like this little yappy terrier that won't stop barking suicidally at bigger dogs.
