Awards! *does the Snoopy dance*
On a less angst-ridden note, I recieved two fic awards in the last couple of days. By A Thread won runner-up for Best Het at the Rogue Poet Awards and A Spectator Sport won Best Solo-Action at the first round of the Indigo Crypt Awards. I just wanted to say thank you to those that nominated me, the judges for their efforts and the gorgeous award banners. Also, it's really neat when you get comments. That's just icing on the cake! Go check out the winners if you haven't already. Many congrats to my ever fabulous friends and flisters eowyn_315, only_passenger, sevendeadlyfun, snowpuppies, spankspike, tibialisant, framedinlove, slaymesoftly, girlpire, ash_carpenter, ssddgr, cold_gentlemen, and athenewolfe.

I also wanted to take the time out to congratulate mere_ubu, louise39, and ldyavalonfor their Cheerleader wins at Rogue Poets. You ladies are some of my best reader cheerleaders. It is always appreciated and you deserve the acknowledgement!

clawofcat has written a classic feel-good piece of Spuffy. And it feels good in every way! Spike puts on a show for Buffy like no other and without the distraction of misunderstandings, pesky apocalypses and the Scoobies, you're free to enjoy the hotness. And boy, it's hot! </a></b></a>clawofcat has earnt her Spuffy stripes in pure style and she continues to knock them out of the park - this fic being the top of my list. Absolutely marvellous.

I haven't really had time to work on any fic, but I'd like to. I have a post-nfa Spike/Dawn shot brewing and a whole slew of various Faith/Angel projects. I'm really stuck on the In Dreams Angelus drabble, but I wrote the Darla one a few weeks ago. Do you think I should just go ahead a post that one regardless? I was hoping to keep a particular order to them and tell a loose sort of narrative through them, but since I'm so stuck I might have to abandon that idea. Any thoughts?

Thankies. I always feel good when my Faith/Angel stuff wins. "By A Thread" is one of my favorite stories.

Whee! You are so the girl of the hour these last few award announcements. It's like you've arrived. How does it feel?
ash_carpenterash_carpenter on May 20th, 2008 11:26 am (UTC)
Aw, thanks honey *blushes*

Gotta admit, it feels kinda nice...tho I can only assume that the judges are on crack...! ;-)

Awesome! Both stories are so deserving - good for you!

Thanks very much! I love it when "By A Thread" wins. It's one of my favorite stories. It touches me every time I read it. If only I could settle on what I wanted to do with Part III...

Readers and commenters are what make fandom so enjoyable for writers. All of you who put the effort in should be acknowledged. *hugs*

Congrats on your pretties, honey - they're very pretty, indeed! ;)

And about your drabbles...I think I'd wait, if you're looking to do a narrative. Write something else a bit and get your momentum going, then come back to it...usually works pretty well for me. *shrug* Good luck on it, whatever you decide!

Whoever does the graphics over at Rogue Poets consistantly does lovely banners. Next to Fang Fetish, they are my favorite ones, especially for my Faith/Angel and Faith/Spike wins there.

Thanks on the advice. I'll sit on Angelus a bit. Maybe it will come to me. The one I did for Darla... *whispers* rhymes. And... it's bloody awful rhyming. But I really like it anyway. My excuse is that it's an experiment. So, you know, I can be a doof and get away with it.
The Anti-OTPsnowpuppies on May 20th, 2008 05:28 am (UTC)
Oh, I like the ones over at RPA best, I think. Although the ones at Indigo Crypt this round were fantastic, too. But really, we're all surrounded by great and beautiful banners, so it's all good. And speaking of pretties, I got a gorgeous one from good__evil for the Faith/Connor piece I wrote. It's *huge* and gritty and lovely. Yay!

Good luck with Angelus, the evil bastard that he is.

In random but somewhat related news, I'm writing Angel/Gunn.

Yeah, I know. Weird.

Graphics make my heart go boom. I love them. I just love art, in general. Museums are always on my "must see" lists when I go traveling. I dated an artist for 3.5 years. I put his work up all over my walls. I really respect those that can compose a good image, no matter the medium.

I can't really see Angel/Gunn as a pairing from the show, but I have read one Angel/Gunn piece before and I liked it. It's one of those works in fics, but not in canon sort of pairings. You've got me intrigued though. You always tend to deliver surprises.

Can we have a phone date? I'd like a phone date sometime. I'll email you with my number.
The Anti-OTPsnowpuppies on May 20th, 2008 05:46 am (UTC)
It's more crackish pre-slash than anything, but there's banter that I hope isn't too long-winded...*scratches chin*

And a phone date sounds fun!

And oh! If you happen to go to a museum while in Dallas, lemme know, cause I almost never get to go and it would be fun!
The Anti-OTPsnowpuppies on May 20th, 2008 06:11 am (UTC)
You wouldn't happen to be inclined (or have the time) to beta, would you?

Cause I've never done Gunn before, and...*wibbles*
ClawofCatclawofcat on May 20th, 2008 06:17 am (UTC)
When would you want it by?
The Anti-OTPsnowpuppies on May 20th, 2008 06:19 am (UTC)
Oh, I dunno. It's not *due* for a while, but I'd like it...within a week or so? Is that too short a time?

It's ~1,000 words, if that helps.

I can do it over the weekend once I'm all settled back at home and the graduation insanity is over. Send it to me whenever it's ready.

I just randomly took pictures of myself in my empty room. Should I post them? And why I'm not asleep, I don't know. I need to be up at 7:30am. I'm an idiot.
eowyn_315eowyn_315 on May 19th, 2008 06:08 pm (UTC)
Congrats on the awards!

As for the fic, since you're going to be gone and not posting for a month anyway, maybe you should just save the Darla until afterwards. If inspiration strikes you on Angelus, you can come back and post both. If it doesn't, you can always post Darla when you get back and continue thinking about Angelus.
ClawofCat: collge is hardclawofcat on May 20th, 2008 05:29 am (UTC)
All good points. I'll sit on Angelus for a bit longer. Maybe he'll give my ass a nip and it'll come to me.

I had another tumultuous day. Graduation rehearsal, anthro reception, another tense dinner with my parents. It's just no good on my end. I have graduation tomorrow and university commencement on Wed. Thank God I'll be at home and all the hecticness will be done by Thursday. I just want to sit in one place and have some time to myself.

Congratulations on the awards! I'm so happy that A Spectator Sport's receiving all these pretties - it truly deserves every single word of praise anyone could ever come up with. I'll most definitely try and make time for reading By A Thread as well.

Oh, and thanks for the congrats! I think I'm still floating at least a couple of inches above the ground... *g*
ClawofCat: fangel wisdomclawofcat on May 20th, 2008 05:31 am (UTC)
Thanks again for the congrats. And "By A Thread" is one of my favorite stories. It's very special to me. I'm always touched when I reread it. If only I could write like that all the time.
