I am "The Student"
Because I have found myself with some free time, I was perusing my flist and have gaked thatotherperv's sexual personality quiz. Amazingly, the results were spot-on. I am "The Student."

The Student doesn’t care a whit about sexual boundaries or conventions. New, unexplored, and even unusual sexual experiences motivate this erotic type. Learning is just as exciting as doing, so even research involving no involvement of the flesh can be as arousing as sex itself. The Student possesses an insatiable curiosity about all things sexual and appreciates others who share that curiosity, although they don’t always need that quality in a mate. The Student is compelled to experiment with new sexual pastimes out of a sincere desire to experience whatever pleasure they offer. The Student will often delve very deep into a sexual topic or activity to ensure the experience is complete.

You see the sexual realm as one big Petri dish with you as the scientist. Learning is as exciting as doing and very little is out of your scope of investigation. Many people find they are a combination of types. This one seems to be your primary one but you may be another, as well.

Honestly, there's nothing really to add here. That sums it up completely. And, once more, my RL bleeds quite strongly into my fic. I've been known to sit around and research all manner of sexual kink just because I'm curious. Sort of makes sense that I'm an anthro major looking to go into journalism. Learning how people work and why they do the things they do, and desire what they desire is endlessly fascinating to me.

Apparently, I am The Top. Although actually, I don't think my type is there. There were two questions to which my answer was 'none of the above.' They intellectualize sex more than most. Well, that much fits at least...

Yay, someone took it! *dances* Hm, seems for half the people that I know that have taken it it's a close match, and for the other half completely off. *scratches head* I wonder what sort of criteria the author of that book used? Maybe I should try taking the quiz as Buffy or Spike and seeing if it's a match for them.

Well, like I mentioned there were two questions where none of the answers fit. And those two were the 'great sex is...' and 'I'm aroused when...' ones. So it's going to make it tough for the quiz to slot me correctly when none of those options particularly fit me.

From the look of it, there's a longer quiz in the book.

Yep. I had the same problem. None of the answers fit me for those two questions, either. I felt like the quiz was skewed toward more kinky personalities. I mean, why do all of the answers have to be some kind of kink? Does that mean that you can't be aroused or have great sex without it? I ended up as "the escapist," probably because the only sexual experience of mine that the quiz reflected was that I fantasize about JM.

I agree. It's like I said, I guess I fit the description in that I know what I like in bed and am happy to direct. But the pain infliction part is really not me.

And I notice that there's nothing really sensory in these. No choices like I get aroused when my partner smells nice, or when he brushes my hair, or when he winks in that way that means 'sex later', or when I'm dancing, or when I can tell I've made a man notice me, or anything like that.

Even the Escapist isn't really me, because while I enjoy thinking about fictional characters in those situations, I don't put myself in there. And when I'm with my husband, I'm not thinking about Spike to get in the mood.

That's exactly it. Everything in that quiz seems to be extreme, there's none of the simple things that can also be an incredible turn-on without being kinky.

As for the Spike fantasizing, that's more of an, um, "alone time" activity. :) Of course, I don't have a husband, so I don't need to get in the mood with someone else anyway.

Hah. Yeah, my fantasies are an 'alone time' activity too. And not to say that such fantasies can't sometimes lead to inspired together time with the Hubby, but I check the fantasies at the door when that happens. Because it's an awfully nice reality.
